TBC Search & Rescue Does it again!

“Buttergus” beloved kitty to a local Carmichaels family went missing around March 22, 2023. TBC Search & Rescue went into action to assist them in bringing home Buttergus using cat traps & a special “TBC Bait”. We cannot say it better then the children’s Grandmother:

I have worked with a lot of rescues and animal related organizations and professionals in my life. Teddy Bear Care Corp.-TBC is the only group who always answers the phone and will come to help day or night in all kinds of weather. Donna Roberts and her group of volunteers are special protectors for the animals in Greene and Fayette Counties. The missing animal is not just a report or part of a job to them, they truly work to help animals and the people who love them..”

On Jan. 17th TBC joined the many, many animal rescues that celebrated the life and work of our National icon Betty White on her birthday; by making a plea for funds to help the rescued animals as a memorial to her. In keeping with that theme, TBC is now offering an opportunity to purchase special coffee mugs with her picture and her personal dog “Pontiac”. These mugs challenge us all to “BE A BETTY”, and are on sale as pre-orders ONLY through this web site click the “donate” section under “Help Out” to order and purchase yours! “THE GREAT EXODUS.”

The Mather Cats that were rescued from a hoarding house have been with TBC since Aug. 26th of this year. All 30 cats have been treated & cleared from various health issues, groomed by professional groomers, (THANK YOU Megan & Emily), and several of them have been adopted into GREAT FOREVER HOMES! The remaining 21 cats have been divided and prepared to leave and go into other -NO KILL- animal rescues that can give them their next step closer to a forever home; and better life then what they had from being hoarded and abandoned without LOVE & CARE! It is a bittersweet emotion for those of us who cared for them on a daily basis, but they go with our love! One of the animal rescues that have taken several cats is quoted praising the efforts of the TBC’s Volunteers labor of LOVE: “I was so sad reading all their original intake notes. You guys did a great job getting them all cleaned and finding places for them to go!” ( Jackie of CatCalls Rescue). God Bless them all!

TBC Launches It’s First Major Rescue Operation.
In late July of this year the TBC Office received a desperate call from a resident in the neighborhood of Mather, in Greene County Pa. The caller, Deneen Rhodes, explained how many contacts she had made to various agencies to ask for help in rescuing cats that had been hoarded in a house across from hers. No one was able to help. At least 50 or more cats were reported to be living inside the house that “leaked” oders of urine and feces. The TBC (HPO) Robin Leighty, Humane Police Officer went into action and made plans to legally enter the home for the rescue! On August 26, the HPO Team were able to enter the home. By the end of the day a total of 30 cats were rescued. Here are just a few photos from that day’s rescue efforts. You can see by the people in these pictures just how dedicated and compassionate the TBC Staff,Volunteers, Medical Team, Extra Volunteers, and the Township help were, and how much this touched each and every heart working in the heat were. https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2021/08/26/mather-greene-county-cats-rescued/
